Powder Compass
Affiliate Disclosure
Plain-language draft, not yet reviewed by a lawyer. Written to meet the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s endorsement guidelines (16 CFR Part 255); confirm with counsel before launch.
Some links on Powder Compass are affiliate links. If you click one and book lodging, lift tickets, or travel, we may earn a commission — at no extra cost to you. It’s the same price you would have paid anyway; the provider shares a small cut with us for sending you their way. That commission is how we keep the odds and the atlas free.
Who we work with
We participate in affiliate programs through networks and partners that may include Travelpayouts, Liftopia, and AvantLink, among others. When you follow a booking link, the partner receives an anonymous reference so they can credit the referral to us. They don’t receive your personal details from us (see our Privacy Policy).
Why this doesn’t bend our odds
This is the part that matters most, because honest odds are the entire point of Powder Compass:
- Commissions never affect our odds, rankings, or recommendations. The odds come from historical snow data. A resort does not rank higher because it pays more, and no partner can buy a better number.
- We show the busts either way. Our job is to tell you when a bet is likely to miss, even when telling you that means you don’t book anything at all.
- If we ever accept paid placement or sponsorship, we will label it clearly and separately from our data — it will never be dressed up as an odds call.
